Animal Humane Society recently welcomed a special arrival to Minnesota: 33 Beagles released from the Ridglan Farms breeding facility in Wisconsin. As a testament to AHS being a leader in animal welfare, Beagle Freedom Project reached out to us directly to ask if we could provide a second chance for these dogs.
These sweet Beagles were bred by Ridglan Farms for use in testing facilities and have only known a life in captivity. All of them have some degree of dental disease — some are severe and will require numerous extractions. Others will need treatment for ear infections and skin growths, and all will require sterilization surgery. Many commercial breeding dogs are under socialized, some critically so. Though they are amazingly resilient, some will require extra time and patience to recover from the past and learn about comfort and companionship.
The Thiebault Family has generously offered to match donations made on behalf of these dogs up to $15,000. Your support gives neglected animals like these crucial time to heal, as well as everything else they’ll need to find their fresh starts. Please give today and ensure AHS can respond to community calls for aid and be a safe place for animals who need care for years to come.
